Considered education recruitment for UK schools.

Why we exist

Schools deserve a recruitment partner that understands the rhythm of the academic year, the weight of safer recruitment and the difference between a CV that reads well and a teacher who will stay through the summer holidays. Most agencies are built for volume. Luca Education was built for fit.

We are a UK permanent education recruitment partner with one principle at the centre of the desk: a hire only works if both sides feel cared for. Headteachers receive a brief that has been listened to. Candidates receive the truth about the school, the cohort and the trajectory.

What we do, plainly

Permanent placements into primary, secondary and SEND settings across the UK. State-maintained, academy and a small number of independent schools. Ten specialisms, one consultant per school, end to end.

The roles we place most often:

  • Classroom teachers across primary, secondary and SEND
  • Teaching assistants and HLTAs
  • Cover supervisors and exam invigilators
  • EYFS practitioners and room leaders
  • Heads of department and subject leads
  • Headteachers, deputies and assistant heads
  • School business managers, SBMs and trust ops leads

Who we work for

Single-academy trusts, multi-academy trusts, local authority schools and a small portfolio of independent settings. Mostly small to mid-size, with leadership teams who want a recruitment partner that will pick up the phone and tell them the truth about the candidate market this term.

How we vet

Every candidate goes through:

  • Right-to-work and identity verification
  • Enhanced DBS check (or DBS update service confirmation)
  • Prohibition list and prohibition from management checks
  • Qualification verification (QTS, EYTS, level 2/3, NPQH where relevant)
  • References from current and previous schools
  • A structured competency conversation, scenario-tested where the role calls for it

How we think about a placement

A successful placement is not a CV submission. It is the moment in the summer term when the new teacher is still in seat, still adding value to the school and still happy to be there. That is the only outcome that matters, and the only one we measure against.

Our values, the short version

  • Do the brief properly. Half an hour up front saves a fortnight on the back end.
  • Tell the truth. If the band is below market, we will say so. If a candidate is not the right fit for your behaviour policy, we will not pretend they are.
  • One consultant per school. Holiday cover briefed properly so nothing slips through.
  • Stand behind the work. Free replacement period on every placement.
  • Compliance as a floor, not a ceiling. Safer recruitment is the start of the conversation, not the end.
